For Teachers

Don’t miss this amazing STEM education experience, available through Term 1, 2020.

With over 200 specimens (both live and preserved), students will investigate animals they would not normally encounter up close. Plus, enjoy a combination of interactive and multimedia activities, creating a space accessible by all ages and learning styles.

You’ll see the unique and diverse adaptations of spiders - as engineers, chemists, fossils, ninjas, dancers and more!

Don’t miss an authentic example of Science as a Human Endeavour – we share our own recent discoveries. Meet the scientists who have identified four new trapdoor spiders and do your own ‘research’. Help us understand what makes each one special.

Visiting as a family

Queensland Museum has incorporated a special zone for younger visitors to engage in activities which support their learning.
Challenge your family to a Peacock Spider dance-off, create your own web or build an enormous spider puzzle.
Activities include options for quiet experiences such as spider stories and classifying animals into groups, like a real scientist.

Families will also enjoy encounters with our professional zoo-keepers who can offer extra encounters, such as spider feeding and other demonstrations.

Tickets are general admission (no allocated time or date). Avoid queues by pre-purchasing your tickets online.
